£32.5-£37.5k pa depending on relevant skills and industry experience + commission + excellent benefits

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced, ambitious sales manager to join our commercial team.  Our highly motivated and successful team sell across thirty market magazines, websites and we need a team manager to deliver our strategic plan to expand and develop our existing brand and win new business accounts.

The engineering sales manager will have responsibility for The Chemical Engineer, The Structural Engineer, CIBSE Journal and The Biomedical Scientist.

As a natural leader within the advertising sector, with a proven track record of exceeding personal targets, you will lead by example and motivate the team to deliver outstanding results.  Reporting to the sales director, your inherent understanding of print and online sales and personal drive to develop new markets and revenue streams will ensure we deliver exemplary sales results.

You will be able to demonstrate previous success in:

  • Building and leading successful sales teams
  • Instigating a high performance culture
  • Consistently hitting targets and creating new profitable revenue streams
  • Effective stakeholder and customer management
  • Client presentations and negotiating commercially sound contracts
  • Reporting & market share analysis which drives strategy and maximises new business
  • Strong attention to detail across all sales administration and sales processes

You will have:

  1. A proven track record in media sales and sales management experience
  2. Strong understanding of the publishing / content marketing industry
  3. Experience in and understanding of:
    • Recruitment and selection
    • Budgeting/targeting
    • Coaching and development
  4. Good communication and influencing skills
  5. Good time management skills with the ability to deliver projects within deadline
  6. Ability to respond to pressurised situations
  7. Demonstrable experience of the engineering and built environment market
  8. Command of all basic IT skills
  9. Excellent sales administration performance

Candidates who meet the criteria for this position will have formal interviews with the sales director and at least one board director
