Seeking a talented display media sales business development manager:
Redactive requires an experienced business development manager or senior BDM with extensive experience of working in media sales to develop the revenues on our prestigious titles. Working as part of our Built Environment sales team, as the successful candidate you will be an eager, ambitious, reliable and well-organised individual with a passion for selling.
This role involves selling across a leading engineering industry title: CIBSE Journal, official magazine of the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers. This niche, celebrated title is highly valued, with a unique, targeted audience which attracts the biggest brands in the sector as advertisers.
We need someone who enjoys generating revenues from key clients, delivers great account management, and develops new business. The role involves selling print, digital channels, sponsored events and annual Awards to meet sales targets. This will be achieved primarily by making effective outgoing sales telephone calls, as well as through attending face to face sales meetings and industry events as appropriate / when possible.
With your knowledge of and experience in display media sales, you will take ownership of these
leading brands. Working with our editorial teams, our publishing clients and the wider commercial /
content support teams at Redactive, you will be given the support needed to generate sales success.

- An extensive track record of working in a display and sponsorship media sales environment, with experience of both account management and successful new business development, with demonstratable experience in the engineering sector
- Strong understanding of publishing / media sales
- A deep understanding of marketing principles – especially with regards to the powerful impact of content across multimedia channels
- Experience in and understanding of:
- Presenting to senior audiences
- Developing high levels of new business
- Creating compelling sales proposals
- Selling content solutions
- High level negotiations
- Reporting on large scale campaigns to demonstrate ROI
- Print, digital and event solutions
- Excellent communication and influencing skills
- Solutions orientated mentality
- Strong time management skills with the ability to deliver projects within deadlines
- A sales approach with hustle, but also ethical
- Ability to respond to pressurised situations
- Command of all basic IT skills and knowledge of digital analytics, platforms etc
